The Grand Lake cartoon has been entertaining people since 2016 on Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Youtube, Film Freeway and right here! A 23-minute episode spoofing the film “Jaws” about the infamous Lake Merritt Monster was released in 2018. The cartoons center mainly around Brooklyn the Pigeon, Wayne the Raccoon, and Madison the Goose.

Created by award-winning cartoonist Matty Stone, the first set of animations were set around Lake Merritt in downtown Oakland.

During the pandemic, the characters were “locked down” with Matty.

After the pandemic, and the adjustment to life after it, the characters found themselves in everyday situations. They even stowed away in Matty’s steamer trunk, and visited London. Click here to see all 50 or so cartoons on Youtube.
