“The Grand Lake” was created by award-winning cartoonist, Matty Stone. Originally from London he has lived a block from Lake Merritt (the inspiration for The Grand Lake) in Oakland for 15 years.

In the 90′s, Stone drew comics for San Francisco’s “The American Music Press” and created cartoons for The Improv Comedy Club. His single-panel cartoon strip “Stone’s Throw” was syndicated by The New Breed, a division of King Features Syndicate.

His first novel: “The Americanization of Poe Ogdred” was represented by Tricia Davey while she was at the prestigious Sanford J.Greenburger Literary Agency.

A compilation of short, funny stories called “Behavio(u)r Unbecoming” is looking for a home.

He began animating in 2015.
